Northern Hawk Owl

Last weekend, myself and some friends from the local nature society, visited Montreal Lake in northern SK. to look for Owls. We got lucky and managed to find several Hawk Owls during the time we spent up there.

Here is one individual we found :

Wonderful! I love the two last shot and especially the last portrait... It is terrific and its gaze fantastic. We did it well man! I did not get the same chance over here, the winter came for a week and now it is raining like hell.. Strange winter we are getting...

Wonderful photos - this owl appears from time to time in the NE - about one report a year if memory is right - what a treat to have several handy for viewing

Did you bait the owl using store-bought feeder mice?
