We recently put some shelled peanuts out in the backyard and its almost as if these birds can smell them. We might not see a Blue Jay in our neighborhood for weeks, even months. Now we have three regulars that come every day.
Now that is a garden visitor, I'll gladly do you a swap. We used to get our Jay's around eating monkey nuts, but i haven't seen them for about 6 years too many grey squirrels eating them too quick, the nuts that is
Thanks guys :-) Mike , I think I have only seen a Jay 4 times in my life back home. It always used to be so exciting though. Over here they seem to be at most parks.

I haven't put out too many sunflower seeds yet, but when I do I will have a bunch of Jays daily!
You would just know that gorgeous guy would go and pose in a red tree for you! Wow! That' so beautiful.
Yours is the most handsome blue jay I've seen in a long time - and you must have told him how to pose - it was too perfect!
Thanks guys. I'm glad he chose to sit there for a few seconds :-)
That's a beautifully composed image. The blue jay against the red colored flowers is awesome
Wow! It's beautiful and so clear. I just want to reach out and stroke the top of it's pretty little head. :-)
