On Saturday I went on a trip to Gardiner Dam to look for waterfowl and see what other treats may be in-store.
I added a few more birds to my winter-list , and on the way home , there really was a treat to behold...

...wow...incredible! You must have a perfect combination of skill...lenses...and bird whispering about you, because you always get the best shots. He's lovely.
Thanks Kelly. I only use one lens, because it's the only one I own, but it serves me well :-)
Awesome! In the first, I love those long talons poking out from under the feathers! In the second, I love how the feathers flow over the rock! These are fantastic!
Gorgeous shots,of a gorgeous bird.
Blessings,Ruth
Excellent Nick. I thought they were quite shy and really to get pictures of, but thus time you got it really well. Well done. We have few here, but never get a chance to get a nice picture of them yet!!
Fabulous!
Fantastic shots Nick. Haven't come across any yet this winter...maybe it hasn't been cold enough and they are enjoying life elsewhere!
Many thanks guys !
Wonderful pictures! I have only seen owls in the zoo, but we hear them often at night, here in northwestern Germany.
Beautiful animal!
A real treat indeed mate. Both excellent, but the second; wow!
Terrific shots of a wonderful bird. Well done!
How lucky are you to see an owl during daylight hours. I think being lucky is 50% of great photography
