The weather was fantastic with hardly any wind, and clear blue skies. It was good to see so many Robins present that have successfully overwintered.

It's ten below zero this morning but it's suppose to be warmer this weekend so maybe your spring like weather is coming our way. Wonderful photos as usual, great use of the fill flash on the rabbit picture.

O.K., so I have a question for you Nick. I see that you use the Canon 100-400mm lens. Do you have a problem with the autofocus in the cold? I have been and know it's the lens and not the camera, as I switched out bodies and had the same issue. Since you have much colder weather, I thought if it's a cold issue, you'd have it too. I've seen nothing on the net about it.

Thanks guys. Hannibal, to answer your question, this lens does tend to ' hunt' in cold conditions, but mainly when the light is poor.
Its still the ideal ' walk around ' lens though, as I have managed shots with shutterspeeds of 1/60 handheld and never carry a tripod with me.
The snowshoe hare looks great against those snow shadows! And there's always something so endearing about seeing a squirrel eat a nut!
Wow. These are amazing. I don't even think I can pick a favorite. Okay, maybe the bunny and all of that white on white. :-)
